NHS Violence Prevention Team

Who is it for?

Any person admitted to hospital with injuries sustained as a result of violence.

What does it involve?

The NHS Violence Prevention Team consists of two members of staff; a qualified nurse and an Advocate seconded into the Violence Prevention Team, and supervised by the Head of Safeguarding. The team is based within the Emergency Department (ED) at the University Hospital of Wales.

The work focuses on delivering advice, support and guidance to patients of any age who have experienced violence with injury, with the aim of engaging with those injured whilst they are in hospital to help break the cycle of violence at the point of crisis.
