Action for Children - dedicated support service

Who is it for?

Young people aged between 11-30 years old who have been referred by the NHS Violence Prevention Team at the University Hospital of Wales.

What does it involve?

Action for Children deliver a dedicated support service for those aged between 11-30 years old.

Referrals will be responded to within a specified time frame, to consider whether the referral is appropriate for Side Step. Close links with be maintained with other third sector/statutory partners in circumstances where referrals do not meet the Side Step criteria but require a level of intervention and support to ensure that each young person gets the most appropriate service suited to their needs.

Side Step is a serious organised crime early intervention service for young people aged 11-18 years. It provides targeted intensive 1:1 support, family support, peer mentoring, group work to divert young people away from criminal exploitation through serious organised crime.
