Who is it for?
Children aged 10-17 years who have been arrested for serious violence-related offences.
What does it involve?
Media Academy Cymru deliver this custody-based intervention, which seeks to divert children away from becoming further involved in serious violence.
A youth worker provides motivational interviewing within custody suits in South Wales, to children aged 10-17 years who have been arrested for serious violence-related offences.
The motivational interview is delivered at what is considered a ‘teachable moment’, at a vulnerable point when the individual may be more willing to engage with professionals and accept support from services to change behaviour.
